Taking Piano lessons is a great way to begin learning music. Especially with children. HitMaker Music School offers piano lessons for students from Cedar Park, Leander, Liberty Hill, Georgetown, NW Austin, and Round Rock, Texas. At HitMaker Music School, piano lessons are a fun and positive challenge for all ages. It’s relatively easy to make sound on a keyboard or piano and the student can experience success rather quickly with practice and great lessons. Students will improve quicker and gain confidence if they are persistent in practice with frequent, short periods of of practice time, approximately 20 – 30+ minutes.
Within our piano lesson plan, students are allowed to bring up their own ideas for songs to learn. As long as it it is within their skill range and the sheet music is provided. You will experience classical and contemporary music that you may not have heard before. Students develop an appreciation for composers like Bach or Mozart or bands like Coldplay to Queen; The Beatles and Tom Petty. A love for music that lasts a lifetime. In addition, the skills and knowledge they learn in Music Lessons should help lead them to pick up another musical instrument. The confidence, focus and process of learning will stay with the student for years to come. We’re proud to provide superior piano lessons for Cedar Park, Leander, Liberty Hill, Round Rock and Georgetown, NW Austin TX, students.

Our Piano Instructors
Our piano instructors work with students on the fundamentals of music including understanding notation, scales, chords, reading music and learning rhythm. As the piano lessons progress, the teacher will typically engage with the student in playing the parts of the song or exercise together. This helps a great deal to improve rhythm. The students will work with a method book for part of the lesson while beginning to learn real songs. Another part of our plan is to foster musical growth through playing and interacting with other students in ensemble rehearsals. Our music teachers understand the importance of rehearsing and playing in the real world of collaboration with other like minded individuals. We enjoy working with adult students and, of course, kids from age 6 and up in private piano lessons.
Learning to play piano is well worth the effort but, the piano, like any other instrument, is not easy. Consistent practice is what is needed to improve at a reasonable rate. If a piano student is persistent in their practice time, their piano lessons will move forward at a faster pace. We want our piano students to understand that there will be many, many mistakes as we learn and improve. It’s important that you don’t give up. It takes time, patience and persistence.
We are grateful to serve NW Austin, Leander, Cedar Park, Liberty Hill, Georgetown, and Round Rock with music lessons. We are proud that most of our students understand that learning in piano lessons is a process that requires reasonable expectations. The ultimate hope for us is that we provide an experience that instills a passion and sensitivity for not only music, but for life. The power of music to impact our lives is a human gift that we are passionate about cultivating.

Building Character in Piano Lessons:
Some of us had the experience of taking music lessons as kids and being asked to, sometimes forced into, practicing scales and the Hanon exercises, with the motivation that “it builds character.” If that was a phrase that you had heard from your folks as a child practicing music, then this time, your parents were right. In a study conducted by The University of Vermont, scientist provide evidence that a high quality MUSIC education for our children may be one of the most effective ways to ensure success in their lives today and in the future. Let’s face it, there is a lot of complicated aspects to life. So, if we can give our kids a better chance to cope with the emotions and negotiations of every day life through “positive activity” like music lessons, then we should. That’s why we love giving piano lessons!
The UVM Medical Study was conducted by James Hudziak and his colleagues.
The team analyzed brain scans of over 200 children from ages 6 to 18 years. The objective was to find a connection between the brains cortical thickness and musical training. Past studies showed that changes in cortical thickness were corresponding to anxiety, depression, attention problems and aggression. In an interview with the Washington Post, Hudziak said “what we found was the more a child trained on an instrument, it accelerated cortical organization in attention skill, anxiety management and emotional control.” Not only that, the team believes that music training is a powerful treatment for cognitive deficits like ADHD.
A brief history of the piano: For about 300 to 400 years the harpsichord was used much like a piano except that the strings were plucked. In 1700, an Italian inventor came up with the idea of striking the strings with a hammer changing the world of music forever. His name was Cristofori di Francesco. In piano lessons we learn about music and it’s history. Our location in Leander, TX is centrally located to Liberty Hill, Cedar Park and parts of Georgetown, TX. Space in limited.
